It's not so much the ability of the book to lie flat, but rather the
weight and bulk. I like to throw books in my work bag for those
moments of down time and find that much harder to do with a hardback,
they just seem to take up too much space.

I will add my voice to those asking for a PDF though. Personally I
would be quite happy with the version that was used to produce the
book as I can then print it out A5 and spiral bind for convenience and
portability. As anyone outside the US would be resizing to print on no
US paper, it doesn't really matter if the original is designed for
letter paper or not.

If you aim is to get the product in to as many hands as possible, I
really would urge you to make it available in other formats to
increase it's appeal.
