Yes, we treated each pseudo-character as a complete character and gave them
5 FP each. A general rule might be that any character being manipulated by
the players ought to have a full refresh at some point before a combat scene
of any kind. For established characters (the ship, a PC) that happens at the
beginning of a session. For characters developed synthetically for a
specific scene (like the pseudo-character in the example) that can happen
right at the start of the scene they were designed for.
