[Diaspora] Spaceship Images

I've been cruising through the archives of the ML (instead of working), and
found this topic. This is one that's near and dear to my heart, because all
too often spaceship=space opera based vehicle for artists. Or players (but
that's another story). Mainly because they don't have to _think_ about it.

Anyway, I rummaged around and found these for refs and players.
http://www.nels.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/GURPS/THS/THSpacecraft/index.htm has
some simple designs of the THS spacecraft.
http://nemtos.ouvaton.org/ Particularly pay attention to the Ray Tracing and
Plans on the left hand side. He also has some adaptations of THS to FUDGE.
http://homepage.mac.com/wbarker/designs.html has some beautiful bits.
Finally, if you haven't already, the Canaan Cluster has some nice images
http://canaancluster.blogspot.com/

Now, googling Realistic Space Ship netted me these
http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/cldetails?mid=142e37ceef8eb09cb35966b35abae8c1.
While not all of them are applicable, enough are.

And last, but by no means least, check out the Theseus from Blindsight
http://www.rifters.com/blindsight/theseus.htm (which gives me a great idea
for a super extended range vehicle...)

So, now the big issue - I need advice on:

   - How to make these images into decent counters suitably sized for a
   8½"x11" combat map.
   - Do the same with the images from the sample space combat chapter from
   the book.
   - Specifically, how do I scale them without ruining image quality?

Thanks,
